At Holland Park State School all curriculum programs are fully aligned to the Australian Curriculum (AC) and the expectations of federal and state authorities. All schools are responsible for designing their learning programs to achieve the learning goals of the AC.
The AC has been recently updated, and our teaching staff are in the process of redesigning our schools curriculum to align with AC version 9. In 2024, we began the implementation of version 9 in English and mathematics.
The remaining learning areas will be implemented gradually over the next several years.

Assessment and reporting
At Holland Park State School, our teachers use a variety of standardised and diagnostic assessments to diagnose learning needs, determine achievement and inform teaching. Students are also assessed throughout and at the end of a unit of work to determine their overall understanding of the topic, these assessment pieces are moderated across the year level to ensure consistency. Students in Years 3 and 5 participate in National Assessment Program in Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN).
Written report cards are issued twice yearly, using a five point scale to report student achievement. Parent teacher interviews are offered in Terms 1 and 3. A variety of assessment pieces are used to demonstrate student learning and inform end of semester reporting.
