Holland Park is a southside inner suburb of Brisbane. The school is about 15 minutes driving time from the CBD. The school was opened on 28 January, 1929 with the architectural style of the period largely retained as additional buildings became necessary. Initially there were three classrooms and an enrolment of 118. Housing in the area is also reflective of that period between the wars and of the post war economic boom. The first head teacher was Mr. William Miles. Today, Holland Park State School is a prep to year 6 campus, with an enrolment of 850 students.
Our school community values a supportive school environment by resourcing its students with the skills for effective communication, self-confidence, conflict resolution and personal development. We value the unique worth of each person, support their personal and emotional development and foster self-esteem by respecting individual differences, recognising and celebrating achievements. We welcome the community's contribution to the life of the school.
The educational development of your child is a joint venture between our school and you as parents and caregivers. We ask that we work together and help each other in that partnership.
