At Holland Park State School, we encourage students to participate in a wide range of academic, sporting, and cultural competitions. To support families with the costs associated with representing the school at a national or international level, the P&C offers financial assistance through the Sporting and Cultural Assistance Program.
What is the program?
The P&C Sporting and Cultural Assistance Program provides financial support to students who have been selected through an official Queensland State Schools selection process to represent the school at national competitions outside South East Queensland or international events.
From 2025, the P&C has allocated $2,000 annually to assist students. Each year, funding amounts may vary depending on the number of applications received.
Who is eligible?
To apply for support, students must:
✔ Have gained selection through an official Queensland State Schools selection process.
✔ Be participating in a national competition outside SE Qld or an international event.
✔ Have all school financial commitments up to date.
✔ Provide a report for the school newsletter after the event.
✔ Submit the application within two weeks of the event's completion.
Each student is eligible for one scholarship per calendar year.
How much funding is available?
✅ National (outside SE Qld) – up to $500 per student
✅ International – at the discretion of the P&C
If the number of applications exceeds the budget, funds will be distributed proportionally based on participation levels.
